Dear TESOL MA Students,
I am writing this short message to let you know a little bit about the Student Union. The Student Union is a pivotal organization for the TESOL MA in that it organises and pays for the social events held within the department as well as for the departmental publication Issues in EFL. Without the Student Union, there is no publication, no semester begin parties, and no symposium or symposium dinner. All these things are funded by the Student Union, a group of students who volunteer their time and energy to make these events work for you.
And the Student union is funded by you. When you go to pay your tuition there is a button there on the page. Please click that button. Clicking this button means the Student Union will get a small bit of money (50,000won) from you. It is small amount for you, but it is money the Student Union needs to function. If everyone does this then we have adequate funds for bigger and better events. So, please push that button and make sure the Student Union gets the money it needs to serve you.
Tuition payment Period for Fall 2016 (except new students)

Dear TESOL Students,
We are going to hold a thesis proposal meeting on Saturday, September 10th at 1pm in the Queen Sunheon Building room #318.
Students who are going to be in 4th semester for Spring 2016 and are planning on doing their thesis for Fall 2016 are required to write a thesis proposal and present it in this meeting. Those 4th semester students who do not present a proposal will be considered at that point as Practicum people.
Proposals need to be sent to the MA office in advance of the meeting. Please send an electronic version of your proposal to the MA office (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Monday, September 5th. Guidelines and suggestions for how to write the proposal can be found on our MA website: http://tesolma.com/thesispracticum.html
The meeting itself is somewhat informal with the applicants taking turns presenting their proposals to the entire group. Each applicant should bring 3 hard copies of their proposal to the meeting to give to the professors. The presentations are fairly informal and do not require any other support materials. There will not be any Power Point presentations. Basically, applicants will explain the proposals they have written focusing on the questions what, why and how. What do you intend to do. Why are you planning on doing that? How do you propose to do it?
The thesis proposal meeting is a closed meeting. Shortly after the proposal meeting presenters will be informed of the results and, if accepted, who their advisor will be.
Course registration period is from Aug. 17th (Wed) 10:00 ~ Aug 23th (Tue) 23:00

Please do not miss the registration period.
If you are new student and does not know your student number, please contact the MA TESOL office or send an email.
