Dear thesis students,
The presentation for defense is 12 minutes. Since each professor has already read your thesis, the powerpoint presentation mostly provides a context for you to talk about your work, and for others to understand it and the comment provided by the professors. Do not go longer than 12 minutes.
To help you focus on important aspects of your study, a ppt template has been prepared and attached to this email. Do your best to present the information outlined on the template. There is no need to go into an in-depth review of literature or theoretical background. Stick to the template.
Also, if you have not received email from our office about this message, please check your email address in the Blueribbon system and update.
To the thesis defense presenter: Please send your PPT file to the MA TESOL email account one day before your thesis defense and bring approximately 15 copies of your handout (double-sided copy is O.K) to the thesis defense for the audiences.
