There will be a Journal committee meeting on Saturday, March 25th at 13:00.
Location will be the Haengpa building 210.
The purpose of the meeting is to determine who will be involved in this new volume of the journal (Fall 2017)
and see what kinds of jobs they want to do. The more hands the lighter the work.
Anyone who is interested in joining or finding out about the committee are all welcome to come to the meeting.
This is an important part of the MA experience and really crystallises what we do here,
so please take a little time out to get involved.
Also, MA TESOL office has the MA TESOL JOURNAL Spring 2017 Vol.13.
If you are a freshman, you will receive a free journal.
And a current student who applied to a journal through MA TESOL e-mail is also get it with a book price.
The price of journal is 5000 won per book ( you can get it for half price if you paid the student union fee).

If you are a currently employed, certified Korean school teacher who has earned credentials from the Korean government or are a government officer, you are eligible to apply for the teacher/government officer scholarship.
Application submission period is from March 13(Mon) to March 18 (Sat).

- proof of employment (Approved document after Spring 1st, 2017) All applicants even those who have previously received the scholarship need to submit this document.
- proof of teacher's pension. Only those applying for the first time need to submit this.
Applicants will also have to submit their bank account number via the Portal system.

If you're in the final semester of coursework and going thesis next semester,
please submit your thesis proposal via Sookmyung Portal System.
The submission period is March 6 (Monday) - March 20 (Monday)
1. Log in to the Sookmyung Portal System
2. Go to 학사 (Academics) -> 졸업 (Graduation) -> 논문관리 (Thesis Mangement)
-> 논문연구계획서 작성( Thesis/Project Plan)
3. Type in your proposal (Title, content, etc.)
4. Click on 'submit'

Dear TESOL Students,
We are going to hold a thesis proposal meeting on Saturday, March 11th at 1:00(pm) in the Sunheon Building(순헌관) room 318.
Students who are going to be in 4th semester for Spring 2017 and are planning on doing their thesis for Fall 2017 are required to write a thesis proposal and present it in this meeting. Those 4th semester students who do not present a proposal will be considered at that point as Practicum people.
Proposals need to be sent to the MA office in advance of the meeting. Please send an electronic version of your proposal to the MA office (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Thursday, March 9th. The meeting itself is somewhat informal with the applicants taking turns presenting their proposals to the entire group. Each applicant should bring 4 hard copies of their proposal to the meeting to give to the professors. The presentations are fairly informal and do not require any other support materials. There will not be any Power Point presentations. Basically, applicants will explain the proposals they have written focusing on the questions what, why and how. What do you intend to do. Why are you planning on doing that? How do you propose to do it?
The thesis proposal meeting is not a closed meeting. Shortly after the proposal meeting presenters will be informed of the results and, if accepted, who their advisor will be.
