Our first Journal Committee meeting will be on Saturday, April 5th at the Hangpa-building #210. The meeting will start at 11AM, so that we can go to lunch together after. If you're not available at that time or on that day, please let me know - we can get you working on the committee even if you can't attend. But please do try to come..
Attending the first meeting does NOT mean that you must commit 100% to the journal. We just want to talk about what we want to do with the journal, and all ideas are welcome. If nothing else, consider it a nice chance to meet some fellow TESOLers!
One of the great things about the journal is drawing on the strengths that each member can offer. Some of the "jobs" available are:
- Writers; especially for magazine-style articles that can help new students
- Editors; to help make the academic articles clear and understandable
- Copy Editors; to make sure we don't have embarrassing typos
- Organizers; to make sure we publish on time and with no headaches
- Layout Specialists; to make sure that the journal looks the best it can.

The submission deadline for proposals to the National KOTESOL Conference is approaching (March 16th). With the majority of conference attendees being fellow language teachers looking for practical ideas, this conference is an ideal place to share your work.
You can present at the poster session, and I also encourage you to share work (alone or with a classmate) in the 25-minute research or practice presentations. Take the opportunity to share the ideas, activities, and reflections from your experiences in our program. If you are in your 4th semester (this spring semester), the final term as electives, and have turned in your proposals through e-mail.
Thesis proposal meeting is scheduled on Saturday. Please see the follow detail information.
Title: Thesis Proposal Meeting
Attendees: 4th semester student who wants to write the thesis & Professors
Date: March 15th (Saturday)
Venue: Sunhyun-gwan #214
Time: 1 p.m to 3 p.m
If you're in the final semester of coursework and going thesis next semester, please submit your thesis proposal via the blue ribbon system. The submission period is until March 17th after our Proposal Meeting on March 15th (Sat).

1. Log in to the blue ribbon system.
2. Go to 학사 (Undergraduate) -> 졸업 (Graduation) -> 논문관리 (Thesis Mangement) -> 논문연구계획서 작성
3. Type in your propsal (Title, content, etc.)
4. Click on 'submit'
If "신청대상자가 아닙니다" message pops up on your screen, please call the Office of Registrar at 710-9083.
The date of the thesis proposal meeting has changed to Saturday March 15. This means that the proposal itself is now due on Monday March 10.
The venue for the meeting on the 15th will be announced shortly.
If you are a certified Korean teacher who has earned credentials from the Korean government, you are eligible to apply for teacher scholarship.
Application submission period is from March 24 (Mon) to March 28 (Fri). Please submit the following documents to the office of the Registrar, Jinlee guan #705 ( 진리관 705 호) (02-710-9083):
- proof of employment (Approved document after Mar 1, 2014) Applicants of last semester also needs to submit.
- proof of teacher's pension
Only applicants applying for the first time needs to submit.
Applicants will have to submit their bank account number in Blue ribbon system at about third week of April.
